Dave Mooney - Owner

Uploaded Image: /uploads/1745591044_Dave.jpgDave Mooney has been in the pre-owned Volvo sales business for over 45 years. He started selling Volvos out of his house in Guilderland, NY back when import cars were not popular. During that time, his reputation, customer base and following grew and expanded into the Company we know today, Precision Volvo.

His knowledge of the Volvo car line, and the constantly changing pre-owned car market, has allowed him to stay one step ahead of the competition. He has always worked for himself, and more importantly, for his customers. This is what has always made him stand out in an industry that is plagued with dishonesty and poor reputations.

In 2003 he brought Sean on as his partner and together they grew both the sales and service departments simultaneously. With Dave's sales knowledge and business skill set, combined with Sean's mechanical knowledge, Precision has grown into the reputable independent Volvo dealership it is known for.

You’re not just buying a pre-owned Volvo from Precision, you are buying a value that he created in the used car market locally. His loyalty and love of the Volvo brand is what has built that value in the product he sells.

His successful business model is proven by his long, loyal, deep rooted customer base.

Even though Dave has stepped back from the day to day a little, his influence, training, guidance, and constant advice is always working with each and every one at the shop on a daily basis.

Sean Nava - Owner

Uploaded Image: /uploads/1745499139_Sean N 4crop.jpgSean Nava opened the Precision Service department with the help of Dave Mooney in 2003, after working in various fields of the automotive industry. He operated the Service Department of Precision Volvo solely for a number of years before expanding and crafting the Precision team you know today. In his time in the automotive field he has completed several certificate and training programs such as: Automotive Technician Training Program (ATTP), Fundamental Engine Electronics Training (FEET), Systems Training in Emissions and Performed (STEP), and is EOA 609 certified.

Over the years Sean has built the business on his skills, personality, honesty, and knowledge of the Volvo car line - in turn gaining the trust and loyalty of thousands of local as well as out of state Volvo owners. His loyalty and approach to the Volvo brand, the laid back customer experience, open communication, and his method of repair is what he believes gives the customer a comfortable feeling knowing their money is spent wisely, and efficiently on their vehicle.

Every vehicle he sells, in addition to the ones he repairs, leaves with the backing of himself and his team. It has always been his belief that you’re not just buying a car or repair, you’re buying him, and a relationship with the entire Precision team, for the life of your vehicle- ultimately pushing Precision Volvo to continue to stand out from other automotive Sales and Service facilities.
